ASTM 304 316 stainless steel sheet 0.4*1000*6000 SS 304 4x8 hot rolled stainless steel sheet and plates
316 Stainless Steel Sheet & Plate Introduction
Grade 316 stainless steel belongs to the stainless steel series, which also includes 304, 302, 347, etc. It belongs to austenitic steel grades, including specialty alloys, manganese-chromium-nickel-nitrogen alloys, and common chromium-nickel alloys. This steel is common in many food processing, power and chemical plants. It is easily differentiated from other products due to its excellent corrosion resistance. In welding applications, this alloy comes in handy due to its low carbon content - minimal carbide precipitation.
Stainless Steel Sheet Parameter
Surface Finish of stainless steel sheet
Surface finish | Characteristics and application |
2B | The surface brightness and flatness of no2B is better than NO.2D. then through a special surface treatment to improve its mechanical properties, No2B could nearly satisfy comprehensive uses. |
NO.1 | The surface is finished by heat treatment and pickling or processes corresponding thereto after hot rolling. |
NO.4 | Polished with abrasive belt of grit #150-#180,have better brightness with discontinuous coarse stria, but thinner than No3 are used as bathtub buildings inner and external ornaments electrical appliances kitchen utensils and food processing equipment etc. |
HL | Polished with abrasive belt of grit #150-#320 on the NO.4 finish and has continuous streaks, mainly used as buildings ornaments elevators, door of building, frontal plate etc. |
BA | Cold rolled, bright annealed and skin-passed, the product have excellent brightness and good relativity like mirror, kitchen apparatus, ornament etc. |
8K | The product have excellent brightness and prefer re-flexibility can to be the mirror. |
Chemical Composition about stainless steel sheet
The minimum tensile stress of grade 316 stainless steel is 515MPa, the minimum yield stress is 205MPa, and the minimum elongation is 50%, 40mm.
At room temperature, grade 316 stainless steel also has the following properties:
Density 99g/cm3
Thermal expansion 9 mm/m/°C
Resistivity 4μohm/cm
Thermal conductivity 3 W.m -1. °K-1
Elastic modulus 193 GPA
The following are the characteristics of several 316 stainless steel sheets
Corrosion resistance
Corrosion occurs when the outer surface of a component deteriorates due to a chemical attack. Once this happens, contaminants can enter the inner layers of the component. Corrosion resistance is probably the alloy's greatest asset. Because of this characteristic, you'll often hear it referred to as a "marine grade." 316 stainless steel contains at least 2% molybdenum, which provides higher corrosion resistance than other steels.
easy to process
Like other austenitic stainless steel, 316 stainless steel has excellent manufacturing properties. The material is very easy to deep draw, making it suitable for making sinks and similar stainless steel parts.
heat resistance
This stainless steel has excellent oxidation resistance in both continuous and intermittent use. The maximum temperatures in both cases were 925°C and 870°C, respectively.
Stainless Steel Sheets Applications
Stainless steel sheet metal and plate provide low maintenance, corrosion resistance solutions for various industrial applications. Some of the typical uses for stainless steel sheets and plates include:
