Carbon Steel Sheet Introduction

Carbon steel sheets are one of the most common types of steel. The specific type of carbon steel sheet is selected based on how it will be used. It is classified into low, medium, and high as well as into several grades. The properties of tensile strength and yield strength can vary greatly between the different categories of carbon steel. In general, a low carbon has a yield strength of approx. 47,900 psi and tensile strength of approx. 65,300 psi. In comparison, high carbon has an approximate yield strength of approx. 84,800 psi and tensile strength of approx. 140,000 psi.

Low carbon steel plate: For carbon content 0.06% to 0.25%, also we call it mild steel plate.
Medium carbon steel plate: C content from 0.25% to 0.55%.
High carbon steel plate: 0.55% to 1.0%, also called hard steel plate.
As the content of Carbon increase, the steel plate hardness increases.

Hot Rolled Commercial Quality Sheets are produced from mild steel grades like AISI 1008/1010 and exhibit a light scale. The material can be used for simple bending and forming. This product has excellent weldability.
